TOP LAWN
The top lawn is a formal garden space reserved to those members looking for a quiet area to enjoy the herbaceous borders, bask in the sun (weather permitting!), or read a book on one of our Victorian benches.
Regarded as the garden’s “front door”, the top lawn receives a lot of attention from our Gardener, contractors, and community volunteers. As such, we expect all garden users to respect the hard work put into the top lawn by doing your part to keep it beautiful.
We kindly ask everyone to follow these guidelines for the top lawn:
- Quiet activities only. If you’d like to play ball games, host a party or event, or have a family bbq, the middle and lower lawns allow you plenty of space for that (see below).
- Dog-free zone. Dogs-on-a-lead are allowed to traverse the path from the eastern gate to the middle lawn, but are not allowed to stay on the top lawn. There are acres of woodland and the middle and lower lawns available for dogs, so we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping this one area dog-free.
MIDDLE & LOWER LAWNS
The middle and lower lawns are designated as the main “activity areas”. This is where dogs are most welcome, and games, events, and safe bbq usage can happen (please review bbq guidance).
